William E. "Bill" Swanson, 83, of Coal City passed away on Friday July 20, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 11, 1928 in Coal City, IL to the late William and Laura Swanson.

Bill enjoyed gardening, spending time with his dog, and traveling.

He is survived by his three sisters LaVerne Kelly, Avis Brancato, and Naomi (Gene) Bianchetta, three sisters in law Marie Swanson, Evalyn Suydam, and Yolanda Vaiente, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years who he married on August 26, 1951 Dolores (Pooch) Swanson (deceased May 6, 2011) , two children in infancy, and a brother Ernie Swanson.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday July 23, 2012 at The Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. With interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
