William J." Bill" Boresi Sr., 92, of Coal City, IL. passed away Friday morning, February 24, 2017 at Heritage Health in Dwight, IL.

He was born March 24, 1924 in Toluca, IL. to the late Ferdinand and Rose Boresi. Bill attended Coal City Schools, graduating in 1942. He married Ila Mae Riordan on October 28, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Streator. They were married 38 years until her passing on May 30, 1989. He worked all his life as a farmer. Bill was a sports fan and followed the Chicago White Sox and the N.Y. Giants. He also enjoyed following his grandchildren's sports especially Coal City High School basketball.

He is survived by his three children: Mary Beth (Bruce) Lane of Cary, IL., William (Susan L.) Boresi Jr. and Douglas (Susan A.) Boresi, both of Coal City; six grandchildren: Matthew (Melissa) Boresi, Ben (Nikki) Boresi, Brad Boresi, Emily Boresi, Hannah Boresi and Robert Lane; and three great-grandchildren: Vivian Boresi, Braxton Boresi and Boden Boresi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ila Mae; his granddaughter Gina Boresi and six brothers and sisters.

Memorials in Bill's name may be directed to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, Illinois Chapter or to Heritage Health.

Funeral service will be Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive). Visitation will also be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington, IL.
