Vickie Sue Powell, 67, of Diamond, IL. passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 11, 2017 .

Vickie was born January 21, 1950 in Joliet to John and Annabelle (Collier) Spese. She married Richard Powell on January 8, 1972. She was an active member of the Coal City United Methodist Church and loved volunteering especially the many great years at the Clothes Closet.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard; her son Matthew (Kristi) Powell of CO.; six grandchildren: Blake, Dylan, Isaac, Lincoln, Warren and Winston Powell; her sister Jean Mauro of Coal City and her brother James "Jimmy" Spese of Farmer City, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Michael Powell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Coal City United Methodist Church in Coal City, IL.

Visitation will be held at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City, IL. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bradley Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow at Braceville/Gardner Cemetery.
