Thomas E. Norton 71, of Essex, and formerly of Elwood Passed away on Sunday August 19, 2012. He was born on March 29, 1941 to the late Raymond and Cecelia Norton.



He worked in the Chicago land roofing industry for 50 plus years. Thomas enjoyed traveling in his motor home, camping, bird hunting, caring for his pets, and his yard, fishing, stock car races, football, attending his grandchildren s sporting events, and baking cookies (Especially eating them).

He is Survived by his spouse Susan Norton, two siblings Raymond (Marcia) Norton Jr. , and Peggy Henry, seven children Thomas (Gloria) Norton Jr. , Stephen Norton, Linda (Ken) Wymer, Kathleen (Mike) Kretschmer, Theresa (Chuck) Albin, Jennifer (Tim) Ashworth, Mark (Dana) Norton, two step children Susan Banas, and Christy Barber, nineteen grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, five great grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in law Omer Henry, and a grandson
Eric Wymer.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 25, 2012 at St. Patrick's Church (200 E. Illinois Street Lemont, IL) with a 10:30 am mass of Christian burial. Father Kurt Boras will officiate. The family will then receive friends from 12 noon until 4:00 pm for picture viewing, luncheon, tom stories, and an open microphone, at The Crystal Grand Banquet Hall, 12416 Archer Avenue Lemont, IL 60439.
