Suzanne Cassani, 68, of Goose Lake, passed away peacefully May 17, 2016 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family at her side.
She was born on August 20, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois to Earl and Cecile Riel Pumphrey. She married Eugene Cassani on November 25, 1967 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Joliet. She worked for almost 40 years as a secretary for State Farm Insurance agents Ken Seidler and Jerry Hallahan. She belonged to both the bridge and bunco clubs. She enjoyed going to the casino boat. She also loved boating on the lake, spending time with her grandchildren and going to their sporting events.
Suzanne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Eugene; two children Sandra (Michael) Vaziri of Yorba Linda, CA. and Daniel (Danielle) Cassani of Diamond; 6 grandchildren Sean,Andrew, Cameron, Darien, Keegan, and Jadyn; sisters Jackie Drick of GA. and Patty (Pete) Cahill of Peotone, IL. and brother James Pumphrey, of GA; sister in law Elaine Pumphrey of GA. ; brothers and sisters in law Joseph (Karen) Cassani of FL., Ellen (Rich) Habinc of CO., Joan (Jim) Smith of IL., Kathy ( Terry) Smith of IL., and Rita Cassani of IL. Also surviving is a very close Aunt Theresa (Don) DePratt and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Michael Pumphrey, brother in law Mark Cassani, niece Jenny and nephews Bernie and Kyle.
Memorial contributions in Suzanne's name may be made to the Joliet Oncology -Hematology Associates Foundation.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 21, 2016 from Ferrari Funeral Service Chapel at 9:30 a.m. to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church (245 South Kankakee Street) for a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Father Robert Noesen officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 20 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive). Inurnment will be Monday, May 23, 2016 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Procession will leave Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:00 a.m. to the cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. service. Anyone not going in procession but wishing to attend can meet at the Welcome Center at 9:45 a.m.
