Sharon Rae Aldridge, age 77, of Coal City, IL.  passed away peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 12, 1943 in Joliet, IL. to Robert B. and Stella P. (nee Logan) Huston. Her family lived in Braceville for several years before making their home in Coal City. Sharon graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1961.  She married James D. Aldridge Jr. on September 25 ^th , 1965 at the Coal City United Methodist Church. They were married for 53 years until Jim's passing in 2019.  She held various jobs such as hairdresser and school bus driver while devoting her life to raising her three children. When she then became a Grammie, Sharon devoted her life to helping raise all four of her grandchildren with love and enthusiasm. She also watched over her grand dogs, Pumpkin and Cheska. Sharon relished having traditional Sunday dinners with her family. She also looked forward to vacationing with Jim and their family in Hayward, WI.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Ronnie), Dawn and Brett (Alice) Aldridge, all of Coal City; her grandchildren, Kassie (fiancé Austin McLuckie), Klare, Mason and Leah; her sisters-in-law, Wendy Huston and Anita Huston; a special aunt, Ruth Vilt and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sharon was also survived by her caring family,friends, neighbors and caregivers whom she greatly appreciated.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Aldridge; her parents Robert and Stella Huston; her mother and father-in-law, Don and Laverne Aldridge and her brothers, Ken and Bob Huston.

Memorials in Sharon's name may be directed to the New Hope Presbyterian Church, 80 N. Garfield Street, Coal City, IL. 60416 or Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL. 60431.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL. 60416. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing when attending. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021 also at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mark Hughey will officiate. Burial will follow at Braceville/Gardner Cemetery where Sharon will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jim.

Pallbearers will be: Kenny Huston, Darren Huston, Steve Fisk, John Olson, Joel Eaton, Charles Gilchrist, A.J. Vilt and Ron Schmidt.
