Roy Eugene (Dad) Atteberry 81 of Channahon, IL passed away on Sunday August 24, 2008 at The Morris Hospital. He was born on September 7, 1926 in Fairfield, IL to the late Vincent and Gladys Atteberry.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was employed by Statesville Correctional Center until his retirement in the mid 80's
He is survived by his wife Margaret Atteberry, three daughters Vickey Garncarz of Coal City, Jeanne Depodesta of Mazon, and Barbara (Phill) Wheaton of Broadwell, IL., three grandchildren Eric (Amy) Depodesta, Stacie (Billy) Wills, and Sara (Jason) Helland, four great grandchildren Bailey and Delaney Depodesta, Maisy and Abram Wills, a very close niece and nephew Ray and Lynn and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and step father Orville Grubb, Brother Ted Atteberry, and Sister Floy Purcell, a son in law Joseph Garncarz,
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2008 at Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Dr.) at 11:00 am with inurnment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery Columbarium in Braceville. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10:00 Am until the time of service At Ferrari Funeral Services in Coal City.
