Rose Marie Krieger, age 77, of Braidwood, IL. passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Morris Hospital.

She was born on December 29, 1943 in Kempten, Germany to Alois and Annie (nee Eppler) Fertl. She grew up in Germany and worked as a waitress when she met Robert J.Krieger, who was stationed there with the United States Army. She did not speak English and he did not speak German, yet they fell in love and married on September 15, 1969. She moved with him to Illinois and raised their family. Rose Marie worked for McDonalds restaurants in the area for over 20 years. She was proud to earn her U.S. Citizenship, for which she worked very hard to accomplish. She was sweet and hard working with a beautiful laugh. She enjoyed flower gardening and crafts.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Krieger; her children, Manuela (Heinz) Hitzelberger of Kempton, Germany, Carrie (Craig) Skubic of Diamond and Tom Krieger of Braidwood; her grandsons, Florian (Susanne) Hitzelberger, and Connor and Creide Skubic; her great-grandchildren, Laura and Philip; and her brother, Manfred Eppler of Austria.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Annie Fertl; her daughter, Heather Krieger and her granddaughter, Casi Skubic.

Per Rose Marie's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Due to Covid 19, there will be no public services.
