Robert K. Walker 81, of Coal City, passed away on May 24, 2011 at The Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. He was born on January 3, 1930 , the son of the late LeRoy and Violet (Phillips) Walker.
He was employed at the Morris Paper Mill for over thirty years and custodian for The Coal City Unit #1 school district for fourteen years until is retirement in 1993.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, and was an avid Nascar and White Sox fan.
He married Martha J. Wills (Giesholt) on April 21, 1962 , she survives along with three children Ken (Kim) Walker of Coal City, Wendy (Stan) Mayfield of Rockford, Gail(Tim) Crawford of Coal City, and daughter in law Jan (McMillan) Walker of Coal City. Five grandchildren Amy (Curt) Skubic, Jon (Kathleen) Walker, Sara (Kevin) Krople, Matt (Ryan) Walker, and Brittney Crawford, five great grandchildren, Jared, Olivia, Riley, Faith, Kaylin, and little Thomas, and a sister Norma Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tom Walker in 2009, and a sister Evelyn
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday May 27, 2011 at The Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City, reverend Danny Stalker will officiate with interment in Sample Cemetery.
