Robert Gus Thomas 81, of Coal City, IL passed away on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at The Morris Hospital. He was born on March 1, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Jerry and Sarah Thomas.

Robert was a member of local 705 Teamsters Union, driving trucks for 35 years. He also owned and operated Thomas Builders for over 25 years. He was a member or The Coal City United Methodist Church, enjoyed reading the newspaper, going on senior trips, and was a Chicago baseball fan.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, June M. Thomas, four children; Robert Thomas of Joliet, Deborah (Tony) Tessone of Goose Lake, Terry Lynn Cain of Morris, Il, and Jerry G. Thomas of Diamond, IL; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, siblings, George Thomas, Delores Zapparato, Maryann Kozar, James (Marie) Thomas, a sister in law Mary Thomas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Darlene (Basil) Munday, a brother CK (Sonny) Thomas, two brother in laws George Kozarand Vince Lambarbera; and a grandson Jonathon (Porkchop) Neikirt.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday September 21, 2013 at The Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Dr.) in Coal City, Dr. Thomas Logsdon will officiate.
