Richard Charles McCawley, 79 of Braidwood, IL passed away on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox. He was born on October 31, 1933 to the late Charles and Lena (Jackson) McCawley.

Richard was a graduate from Reed-Custer High School class of 1951; He served his country from 1954 to 1956. He married Nerina Ferrari on November 16, 1957 in South Wilmington, was employed by Caterpillar in Joliet until his retirement in 1999 with 41 years of service, he was a past member of the Reed-Custer school board and the Mt. Olivet Cemetery board.

He is survived by three daughters Cynthia Olson of Herscher, Lisa (Gary) Basham, and Susan ( Kevin) Gutzman of Braceville; Eight grandchildren Rachelle (Randy) Thompson. Christina (Jerry) Sukley, Kimberly Basham, Jeffrey (fiancé Justine) Olson, David Olson, Matthew Olson, Brad Gutzman, and Kathryn Gutzman; five great grandchildren , a sister in law Deanna (Richard) Serdar, two aunts Elsie Tryner of Washington, Il and Helen Dryer of Carbon Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 47 years Nerina , a sister Imogene and brother in law George Barker two nieces Mardean Barker and Jolene Svoboda.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 21 2013 from Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Dr) at 9:30 am to The Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Rev. Show Reddy Allam officiating with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City.
