Raymond L. Tira, age 69 years, of Coal City, IL. passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on January 25, 1953 in Joliet, IL. to John J. and Mary (nee Galbraith) Tira. He was a graduate of Joliet Junior College and Illinois State University with a degree in Business Administration/Industrial Technology. He was a hard worker and a master mechanic. Ray worked for various area manufacturers.  He enjoyed gardening and waterfowl hunting in his earlier years with his good friend, Douglas J. Baker.

He is survived by his sister, Marilyn A. Tira; two brothers, John M. Tira and James J. Tira; his four nephews, Patrick R. (Sarah) Tira, John M. (Tara) Tira, Jr., Daniel M. (Megan ) Tira and Michael O.  (fiancé Kathryn Steffes) Tira; and his five great-nephews and great-nieces, Patrick Tira,Jr., Russell (Rusty) Tira, Alice Tira, Claire Tira and Kaia Tira. Also surviving are numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Mary Tira.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Preferred memorials may be made in Raymond's name to the donor's choice.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL. 60416. Pastor Bradley Shumaker will officiate.  Interment will follow at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
