Raymond J. Meyer, age 77, of Coal City, IL. passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Morris Hospital.

Raymond was born on June 9, 1944 in Joliet, IL.  to Clarence and Margaret (nee Steffes) Meyer. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. On July 31, 1965 Raymond married Rose Marie Valerio at the Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. He worked in Quality Control for Caterpillar, Inc., retiring after 36 years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose Meyer; his daughter, Julie A. (Gary Siler) Meyer; his sons, Paul R. (Barbara) Meyer and Scott A. (Kristina) Meyer; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph and Ryan Meyer, Avery Meyer and Aiden, Alyssa and Landon Pollworth; his sisters, Cynthia (Frank) Brandeis and Linda (James) Ruhl and his brother, Larry J. (Donna) Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Margaret Meyer; his children, Sally Jayne and Michael John Meyer; and his brothers, Charles J. Meyer and Edwin J. Meyer.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will be at Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
