Raymond R. Delach Sr., 90 of Gooselake, passed away late Sunday afternoon at the Morris Hospital.
Born August 22, 1924 in Joliet , Ill. he was a son of Anton and Katherine (Spreitzer) Delach. He attended Joliet Central High School and honorably served in the United States Army during WWII. After his service, he graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana. He married Anna M. Gil on August 21, 1948. Raymond worked and retired as a methods engineer at Electro-Motive.
He is survived by a daughter, Judith Brockway of Wilmington; two sons: Lawrence (Chris) Delach of Morris and Raymond Delach Jr. of Coal City , and a granddaughter, Courtney Delach, Morris. Also surviving are a sister, Josephine Balma and a brother, Robert (Kathy) Delach, both of Joliet .
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife of 53 years, Anna, in 2001; a grandson Eric Wilson; a sister and brother in law Kay and Frank Racich; a brother and sister in law Anton and Theresa Delach, a stepsister Mary Marzel and a son in law, Bob Brockway.
Visitation will be on Thursday September 25, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ferrari Funeral Services 1044 Ferrari Drive Coal City , Ill. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday September 26, 2014 at The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City . Father Robert Noesen will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood.
