Ralph Henry Brainard Sr., 62 of Chapin, SC passed away on Sunday, December 13,2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital.

Ralph H. Brainard was born November 29, 1953 in Joliet, IL, the son of Warren C. and Frances (Neve) Brainard.

He was joined in marriage to Shannon Colleen Lockhart on June 7, 1997.

Ralph was currently a Mechanical Work Planner for Chicago Bridge & Iron for the new Nuclear Builds of Units 2 & 3 for V.C. Summer (SCE&G). He previously worked for Caterpillar as a machinist in Joliet, IL; a Mechanic, then Scheduler, and later a Mechanical Work Planner at Braidwood Nuclear Station in Braceville, IL; some Truck
Driving for Swift Trucking and Prime, Inc.

Surviving are his wife,Shannon,his father,Warren C. Brainard; his brother Calvin "Cal" (Mary) Brainard, Pontiac, IL; his sisters, LaDonna Wharrie, Coal City, IL; Patricia Brainard (Jennifer Dickey), Greeley, Co; Lorraine (Robert) Brainard, Coal City, IL; three sons: Warren J. Brainard, Gardner, IL;
Ralph H. (Misty) Brainard Jr., Gardner, IL; Jonathan H. Brainard, Chapin, SC; two daughters Sandra (D.J.) Chapman, Jasper, Alabama; Alexandria G. Brainard, Chapin, SC.; 8 grandchildren, Samantha Joe Day, Katie Hall, Destiny Hall, Catalina Brainard, Everette Brainard, Kailee Brainard, Kathleen Michelle Brainard, and Alissa Brainard. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother,Frances, his ex-wife Kathleen F. Brainard, his son Micheal Brainard, and his grandson Wyatt Lee Brainard.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive). Visitation will be on Friday, December 18, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. also at Ferrari Funeral Services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service.
