Obituary

Noma Lucille (Thompson) Fehr, age 91, of Diamond IL passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family and two loving caregivers.

She was born on June 8, 1935 in McCracken County, KY to Ezra Thompson and Pauline (Newton) Crabtree.

Noma loved helping the people in her neighborhood and her church family. She was a good friend to her neighbors, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She loved her faith and attended Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. God and prayers helped her through many trials and joyous occasions. But above all, her family was her greatest treasure. She enjoyed gathering with them and each family member was special to her in their unique way. She loved when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come to visit. She felt blessed to be called Mom, Grandma and Gram by her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She married Juan Fehr on July 25th, 1970 and together they raised five sons, Leon (Pam) Lanier, Ken (Susan) Lanier of Coal City, Tim (Jan) Fehr of Morris, Tom (Kim) Fehr of Diamond and Chris (Amy) Fehr of Lakewood Ranch, FL; four daughters, Laurie (Bob) Bianchetta of Diamond, Brenda (Merle) Anderson of Braidwood, Julie (Dennis) Housman of Essex and Sandy (James “Jimbo”) Paquette of South Wilmington; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, William Lanier; her second husband, Juan Fehr; her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Pam Lanier; her sister and brother in law, Joann and Jim Farmer; her brother, Kenneth (Patsy) Thompson; her step-sister, Henrietta Murphy and her grandson, Benjamin Anderson.
