Michael W. Lindner, age 63, of Coal City, IL formerly of California, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

He was born on January 26th 1961 in Morris, IL to Lois Margaret (nee Weber) Wharrie of Coal City and the late Jack Edward Lindner. He was raised in Wilmington and Braidwood. He served his country in the United States Army. Michael worked most of his career in sales. He was a handyman and builder and owned MJB Products. Most recently he worked as a lawn care specialist. Michael enjoyed volunteering at the mobile food pantry in South Wilmington and with Operation Firm Handshake.

A lover of music, Michael enjoyed playing his guitar. He was a sports enthusiast, with the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears being the teams that he cheered on. He was a fan of NASCAR racing and he also liked bowling. Most of all, Michael will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help people out.

He is survived by his mother, Lois Wharrie;  sons, Josh (Cindy) Lindner and Ryan (Jennifer) Lindner; five grandchildren, Valerie (Dean) Southern, Calvin Lindner, Tyreq Hawes, Charlotte Lindner and Layla Lindner; a great grandchild, Oakley Dean Southern; his sisters, Jamie (Scott) Allen, Laurie (Tommy) Keasler and Beth Lindner; his brother, David (Martha) Lindner and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his favorite feline, "Mr. Percy".

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lindner; three brothers, Warren Lindner, Larry Lindner and Brett Lindner; his step-father, Milton Wharrie; two nephews, Nathan Lindner and Alan Lindner and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorials in Michael's memory may be directed to the St. Lawrence Church Mobile Food Pantry, 135 E. Rice Road, South Wilmington, IL 60474.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL 60416.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
