Michael Ray Holcomb, age 72 of Coal City, IL passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 5, 2026.
He was born on April 22, 1954 in Red Bud, IL to Harvey and Mary L. (nee Cunningham) Holcomb. He was a contracted supervisor at Dresden until his retirement. Mike met his love, Patricia A. De La Rosa, at their place of work and they spent 20 plus years together, making their home in Coal City. He enjoyed fishing at the South Wilmington Fireman’s Beach Club and mushroom hunting. Having had a passion for vintage automobiles, Mike was a collector and owned his own teal colored Ford truck and his bright yellow Chevy Camaro. After retirement, Mike spent his time watching old western movies and Gunsmoke, spending time with his many pets and feeding any stray animal that came into his yard.
He is survived by his life partner, Patricia De La Rosa; stepchildren, Veronica (Gustavo) Diaz of Indianapolis, IN, Jessica Jimenez of IN, Tanya (Armando) Delgado of Indianapolis, IN and Shane (Trisha) De La Rosa of Braidwood; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Laura Holcomb of Ransom, IL; his niece and nephews, Sabrina (Eric) Janke, John and David Carr and Joe Filippone and his step-mother, Josephine Holcomb of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Holcomb and his great-nephew, Matthew.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A “Celebration of Life” will be planned for a future date.
