Martha Sue Rongaus, 72, of Diamond, Il. passed away on Monday evening, April 5, 2010 at Morris Hospital. She was born in New Eagle, Pennsylvania September 18, 1937,
the daughter of Ellis B. and Helen E. (Hamilton) Cowan.

Sue graduated from Monongahela High School in Pennsylvania in 1956. She married James F. Rongaus October 3,1959 in Fellsburg, Pa. She worked as an administrative assistant for many years, most recently for George Williams College in Downers Grove and for Hinsdale School District # 86.

Sue is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim; her son Jeffrey(Jennifer) Rongaus of Woodridge, Il,; her daughters Beth Svoboda of Plainfield, Il, Jennifer (Joshua) Rongaus-Smith of San Clemente, Ca., and Rebecca Rongaus of Lake Forest, Ca. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren ; Kelly, Danny , Erin and Joe Rongaus, Amy(David) Buuck, Samantha and James Nimmer, Robert, Sarah and Rose Svoboda, Alex Rongaus and Vincent Cannalla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 8, at 10:00 am at The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City for a mass of Christian burial. Father Ron Hart will officiate with a private inurnment at Braceville Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 am on Thursday until the time of service.
