Marie L. Leve, 92 of Coal City, passed away early Thursday morning, September 3, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. She was born November 21, 1916 in Coal City to the late Anton and Anna (Kratky) Unger. Marie was raised and educated in Coal City where she lived her entire life. She Graduated from Coal City High School class of 1934. On November 1, 1941, Marie Married Roy E. "Yoxie" Leve Sr. in Coal City, She was a member of the Coal City United Methodist church, a past member of the Mothers Study Club, and the united Methodist Church Friendship Circle.
Marie is survived by her children Roy E. (Sharon) Leve, Jr. Kathleen (Gary) Simons, and Judith (Louis) Campo. Also surviving are eight grandchildren Steve (Tammy) Leve of Elmhurst, Andrew Leve, Carla Stiles, Katy (Jeff) Cora, Michael Campo, Matthew Campo Mary Campo, and Marc Campo all of Coal City, six Great grandchildren Olivia and Gabriella Leve, Courtney Simons, Cameron Stiles, and Chelsea and Chase Cora. One great-great grandchild Ava Templet, and several nieces' nephews, loyal friends and neighbors.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1967, two brothers Edward (Genevieve) and (Theresa) Unger, Tony (Phyllis "Fern") Unger, one sister Elsie (Kenneth) Walsh, and nephew Kenneth "Murphy" Walsh Jr.
Marie was a homemaker and a caterer for about 10 years. She loved to be around her family and friends, loved to cook, enjoyed reading, and was an avid cubs fan.
In lieu of flowers donations in Marie's name to the Coal City United Methodist Church, Joliet Area Community Hospice, Coal City Fire and Emergency Squad, or the donor's choice would be appreciated.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday September 4, at Ferrari Funeral Services and her body will lie in state on Saturday at the Coal City United Methodist church from 9; 30 am until the time of Service at 10:30.
