Obituary

Lucille Virginia Wolfe, age 88 of Coal City, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at The Gardens At Park Pointe in Morris.

She was born on November 25, 1934 to Dominic and Julia (nee Peredetto) Bertoglio. She was born and raised in Coal City, attending school there and graduating from Coal City High School Class of 1951. Lucille married Albert Wolfe in 1951 and together they raised their family of four children. Lucille lovingly worked as a wife, mother and grandmother, but also worked for many years outside of her home waitressing at Weits Café and Romines Truck Stop in Morris for 25 years and also working at Furniture Factory in Coal City. She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church and over the years served as a Eucharistic Minister, worked with the Martha's and was a Prayer Warrior. She loved the Lord and always prayed for those dear to her.

Lucille was a member of the Coal City Area Club. She was an avid camper and also traveled to Florida for several winters. She loved to dance with her husband Bill.  Lucille also enjoyed line dancing. Known as "Lou" by her loved ones, she enjoyed playing cards all of her life, but especially during her later years with many of her friends from Coal City. Most of all, Lucille cherished time with her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lucille was an excellent cook and looked forward to making delicious dinners at her large family get togethers.

She is survived by her children, Virginia "Ginny" (Jerry) Thompson of Morris, Sandy (Mick) Lauterbach of Goose Lake, Albert "Wayne" Jr. (Rhonda) Wolfe  and Daniel Sr. (Brenda) Wolfe, both of Coal City; her grandchildren, Jeff (Kerry) Thompson, Michelle (Steve) Johnson, Elizabeth (John) Carver, Daniel Wolfe Jr., Corey Wolfe, Ashley Benson and Kylie Vogrin; and her great-grandchildren, Austin and Haley Johnson, Patricia Thompson, Gianna, Giavella, Julian and Johnny Carver and Zoey Benson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Albert Wolfe Sr. in 2002; her parents, Dominic and Julia Bertoglio; her sister, Margaret Adams and her brothers, Joe Bertoglio and Dominic Bertoglio.
