Kyle Thomas Kappeler, 27, of Coal City,IL. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn.

He was born in Olympia Fields, IL. on December 31, 1990 and is the son of Scott and Catherine (nee Formanek) Kappeler. He attended Coal City area schools. Kyle was a sports fan as well as a skilled participant. In high school, he played football, wrestling and tennis. He also played ice hockey for St. Jude's Knights Hockey Club in Crestwood. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

He is survived by his parents, Scott and Cathy, and his brother Charlie Kappeler, all of Coal City; his grandmother Lydia Kappeler of LaSalle; his aunts Sharon (Tim) Modeen of Plano and June (Jim) Lesko of Somonauk; his uncle Tim Formanek of N.C.; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his biological mother Pamela Kappeler in 1994.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL. 60416. Father Robert Noesen will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
