Kurtis H. Weems 49 of Coal City passed away on Sunday September 28, 2008 at his home. He was born in Hinsdale, IL on March 29, 1959.

He was a graduate of Glenbard East High school, former firefighter , Served in The Unites States Air Force, 351st Security Police Division. Also involved with the Civil Air Patrol. And Enjoyed being part of the community musical group called The Life Singers.

He is survived by his wife Julie A.(nee Schreder) Weems, mother Marilyn (John) Schleifer of Hains City FL. Two brothers Raymond (Kathryn) Weems of Ottawa, and Kenneth Weems of Roachdale, IL. Two sisters Lynda (Kelly) Harvel of Leverne, TN. And Lisa Weems of Mt. Vernon, IL two step sisters Marilynn Hertz, and Marcia Sodko, numerous nieces nephews and cousin and a three year old cat Naomi Weems.

He was preceded in death by his Father Raymond Weems, Grandparents George and Grace Shoemaker, and Howard and Pauline Weems.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Am on Friday October 3, 2008 at Ferrari Funeral Chapel 1044 Ferrari drive in Coal City; Rev. Chuck Richardson will officiate with interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Kurtis's name may be directed to the family for later disbursement.
