Joyce E. Vota 80, of Coal City, IL passed away on Wednesday July 8, 2009 at her home. She was born on May 31, 1929 in Coal City, to the late Louis and Lillian Hejda.
Joyce was a VFW auxiliary member and former Scout leader, and member of assumption church. She enjoyed crocheting , crossword puzzles, watching TV, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Harold (Georgette) Vota of Coal City, a daughter Janice (Mike) Davenport of Hampton VA three grandchildren Shadrick Scott, David (Kim) Davenport, and Chantelle Davenport, seven great grandchildren, Amara, Asher, Kamauh, Jaddei Scott, Jamison, Julianna, and Elizabeth Davenport. She was preceded in death by her husband John B. Vota, her parents, two Sisters Carol Hejda, and Lauris Granger.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 13, 2009 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:00 am to the Assumption Church for a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial. Father Noesen will officiate with interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 -7:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services in Coal City.
