Joseph Patrick Boland
Age 78, of Forsyth IL formally of Coal City, passed away peacefully with family at his side, Friday, July 6, 2012 at 2:16 a.m. Joe was born October 1, 1933 in Toluca IL.
Joseph lived in Forsyth, Illinois after retiring from Caterpillar Inc. having worked there for 32 years. He also volunteered as a weather spotter, a member of REACT, and Coal City Auxiliary police in Grundy County. Joe was an active member of the St. Mary's Assumption church in Coal City as well as Our Lady of Lourdes of Decatur.
Joe married Mariann (Stasell) Boland August 2, 1958. This marriage was blessed with 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was loved dearly by his family, friends and caregivers. He enjoyed his family, camping at Coal City Area Club, computers, and movies.
He is survived by his sister Genevieve Zook, son Douglas(Cynthia) of North Platte, NE; daughter Beth (Robert)Militello of Channahon, IL; son Daniel (Brenda) of Kingston Springs, TN; daughter Lori (Carl) Marks of Gardner, IL; sons Timothy (Carrie) of Forsyth, IL; and Todd, of Mazon, IL.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Mariann (Stasell) Boland; parents Edward and Mary (Rampa) Boland; his siblings Charles Boland and Mary Jane Crylen.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2012 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:30 am to The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church for a 10:00 am mass of Christian burial father Robert Noesen will officiate with interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. Online guest book at www.ferrarifuneral.com
