Jonathan A. Rose, 82, of Wilmington, IL. passed away peacefully on February 1, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born October 20, 1934 in Jacksonville, IL. to Wesley and Pearl (Stucker) Rose. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired after 55 years as an electrician with the IBEW Local # 570. Jonathan was a lifelong resident of Phelan Acres. He acquired his recreational pilot's license. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a member of the National Rifle Association and U.S.A. Shooting for the Olympics.
Jonathan is survived by his daughters Debbie Friddle of Wilmington, Teresa (Patrick) Dicken of Wilmington and Deniece (Howard) Schott of Braidwood IL. ; his sons Scott (Nina) Rose of Williston, N.D., and John (Angela) Rose of Essex, IL. ; his sister Pearl Iva Meyers of Jacksonville, IL., 17 grandchildren: Justin Friddle, Shannon Emmons, Beth McPherson , Todd Schott, Tabithia Boshears, Jessica Gabehart, Corey Rose, Danielle Boshears, Chris Rose, Jackie Rose, Megan Rose, Eva Lamb, John Rose, Abby Rose, Tyler Lamb, Ryan Lamb and Brice Lamb; 10 great-grandchildren: Madelyn McPherson, Jacob McPherson, Jake Emmons, Cole Emmons, Kiki Gabehart, Kamden Gabehart, Laityn Schott, Audrey Rose, Michael Boshears and Jace Boshears; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Gene; his sisters Lorraine and Grace; the love of his life Barbara Feeley; his beloved son Steve Rose; and his beloved son-in-law Joe Thatcher.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive).
