John (Jack) McGowan 85 of Gardner, IL passed away on Monday September 21, 2009 at hi home. He was born on March 13, 1924 in St. Louis MO, to the late John and Hazel McGowan Sr.

He was a retired Local 21 brick layer with over 60 years in the trade. Member of the American Legion and He also enjoyed spending time at the Rivera Restaurant.

He is survived by his daughter Kathleen (Joe) Kozar Jr. of Plainfield, two grandchildren Joe (Dawn) Kozar III and Timothy (Gloria) Kozar of Plainfield four great grandchildren Justin, Haley, Morgan, and McKayla, a brother Michael (Lorraine) McGowan , a loving friend Bonnie Lewis,

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife pearl McGowan, a son John Martin McGowan, two sisters Eileen Young, and Kathleen McGowan.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 Am on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.(please meet at the business office) Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 -8:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of spring Rd. and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City.
