Obituary

John W. Edgar Sr. (Bill), 82, of Coal City passed away on Monday July 27, 2015. He was born on July 02, 1933 in Golden Pond, Kentucky to the late Alex and Lucy Edgar.

Bill was a member of The New Hope Presbyterian Church, Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the 802nd construction battalion "Scarwaf", Will Grundy Genealogical Society, Area Number 1 Club (formerly the Miners Club), graduated from Coal City High School Class of 1951, Worked at Caterpillar for 30 plus Years before retiring and operating Edgar and Sons. He was a man of many interests and was especially fond of equipment; he will be remembered as a person who loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Lucille Edgar, five children Kathryn (Donald) Kinnett, Donna (Mitch) Stopher Mary (Michael) Piper, Barbara Peters, and John (Karen) Edgar Jr. eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister Shelby (Ed) Jewett, a brother in law Marvin (Jean) Hank.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald in infancy, and a son in law Richard Peters.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday July 31, 2015 at The New hope Presbyterian Church Pastor Mark Hughey will officiate with interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 30, from 4:00 -8:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City and also at the New Hope Presbyterian Church on Friday where Bills body will lie in state from 9:30 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be his son and seven grandsons
