John R. Cortopassi

John R. Cortopassi was born on September 13, 1943, in Chicago to John S. and Barbara T. (nee Lammersfeld) Cortopassi. He died Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at home in Diamond, IL.

John perfected his avid interest in cooking after attending Dumas Pere French Cooking School in Glenview, IL. He spent the rest of his life cooking for family and friends. His sense of humor will be missed.

John is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Paulette, whom he married November 6, 1965, in Chicago; children, Peter Cortopassi and Christine (Jeff) Drumm; grandchildren, Anthony, Kevin, and Vincent Cortopassi, and Alexander and Olivia Drumm; niece, Margo (Steve Dworak) Canell; sister, Shirley Vendola; and lifelong friend, Charles (Marilyn) Groshong.

Preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Barbara T. (nee Lammersfeld) Cortopassi; and his niece, Barbara A. (Ernest) Andruszko.
