John H. Calabrese, 72, of Channahon, IL. passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Morris Hospital in Morris, IL.

He was born January 17, 1946 in Chicago, IL. to John L. and Phyllis (Guido) Calabrese. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Sandra Kadlec on September 2, 1967 in Chicago. John retired from the Wrigley Company Chicago factory. He was a diehard Cubs Fan. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather uncle and brother. He was honorable and generous, always caring about the needs of everyone else. He was a man of great character.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra; daughters Gina Calabrese and Michelle Rolley both of Coal City, IL.; son John J. Calabrese of North Carolina; grandchildren: Joseph and Jacob Sebastian, Krystle Minski and Garrison Rolley; sisters Marie Roppo of Coal City, IL. and Theresa (Dennis) Koegel of Tinley Park, IL. ; godson Nick (Jacqui) Roppo of Troy, IL.; sister-in-law Melinda Venditti of Boynton Beach, FL.; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Gypsy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Nick "Frank" Calabrese and his dog Abby.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City, IL.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
