James A. Vilt 64, of Millersport, Ohio passed away on January 2, 2013. He was born on May 6, 1948 in Joliet, IL to the late Joseph "Tut" Vilt and Mary (Pallas) Vilt.
Jim was raised and educated in Coal City. After graduating from Coal City High School he entered the Army and later the Army Airborne serving in the Air Auxiliary for 18 months, he later was employed by the F.B.I. and finished his career working for Seven Eleven convenience stores eventually retiring to Ohio with some of his Army buddies.He was also a member of the Buckeye Lake VFW post 1388.
He is survived by his brother Keith (Jill) Vilt of Coal City, and a sister Mary Ann Vilt of Morris, a brother in law Bill Willet; nieces Julie (Darrin) Hutchings, and Devan (Jason) Gagliardo of Coal City, nephews Jeff (Jen) Vilt of Coal City and David (Randi) Jackman of Gardner, great niece Madeline Hutchings, and great nephews Jacob Joshua, and Joseph Hutchings and Easton Jackman, a special Vietnam buddy Robert Lee of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Madeline Jackman Willet, and a brother in law Melvin William Jackman,
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2013 at 10:00 am at The Ferrari Funeral Chapel in Coal City Father John Hornicak will officiate with interment and full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL . Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 9:00am until the time of service at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City.
