James E. Roney, 59, of Carbon Hill, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 16, 2018.

He was born January 13, 1959 to Carl and Helena (Ostrowski) Roney. Jim was an enthusiast of martial arts and motocross. He enjoyed going for coffee at the Whistle Stop Restaurant and spending time with his adopted nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his adopted family: Gordon and Cathy Milne of Coal City, Chad and Mary Macaluso of Carbon Hill, Barry and Molly Sterba and Michael and Renae Milne both of Coal City; C.J., Carter, Creed, Rhyett, Isaac, Dianna, Sam, Maggie, Bobby, Brooklyn, Christopher, Jenna, Catherine, Christina, Angelina, and Alaina; and special friends Jim Lazier and The Ladies at the Whistle Stop Restaurant.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (corner of Spring Road and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City.
