James "Kurk" Reeves of Coal City,IL  passed away at the age of 78 with his loving wife of 49 years, Julie Reeves (nee Miller), at his side.  He was very much loved by his son and daughter in law, Doug and Janis Reeves and grandchildren Damon, Kailtlyn, and Meghan Reeves of Hanover, MN, sister Nola Faye McDaniel of Paducah, KY, and nephew Bradley Keller of Kentucky.  He enjoyed the company of numerous extended family members and friends.

Kurk was born in Bardwell, KY to James and Halloween Reeves, growing up on the family farm, loving farm life and racing tractors.  During his teenage years he loved to go hunting, play the trumpet, and later found his love of fast cars. As an adult he took that love of cars and made it a long time career, working for Fisher Auto Body until he retired.

In 1973 he met his wife Julie. They married, had their son Doug, and he and the family called Coal City their home for over 40 years.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Halloween Reeves, father, James E. Reeves and oldest son Jerry E. Reeves, all of Kentucky.

Visitation will be Sunday, December, 18, 2022 from noon until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 pm. His final resting place will be in Old Bardwell Cemetery in Bardwell, KY at a later date.
