James Louis Mauro passed away on November 16 in Gilbert, AZ. Jim was born on October 19, 1941, in Joliet, IL to the late James and Marie (Maynarich) Mauro. Jim was married to Jean (Spese) on September 7, 1963, and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Jim is survived by his wife, 2 children: Janet (Greg) Smith of Grayslake, IL and Tony of Coal City, 3 grandchildren: Tyler, Jake, and Alex all of Grayslake; a sister-in-law: Vickie (Rich) Powell of Coal City; a brother-in-law: James Spese of Mahomet, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by his parents and his nephew, Michael Powell.
Jim was a member of the Braidwood Knights of Columbus and served on the Coal City Area Board. Jim's passions in life were playing golf and his grandsons. You could always find him on the course with his golfing buddy - Jack Lardi. Jim became an Arizona snowbird after his retirement from BP in 2003. Jim regularly enjoyed having coffee with the guys at McDonalds.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 22, 2013 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:30 am to the Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church for a 10:00 am mass of Christian burial; Father Robert Noesen will officiate with interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00- 8:00pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. Online guest book available at www.ferrarifuneral.com
