James A. Lafferty 98, of Coal City passed away on Saturday June 25, 2011 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was born on May 18, 1913 in Coal City, IL to the late Alexander and Kate Lafferty.
He worked in the office of Peabody Coal Mine, Farmed and worked part time at FS Fertilizer until his retirement at age 62, he also served as trustee for Braceville Township.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Stone, Grandchildren Brent Stone, and Margret (Stone) Voigt, one great granddaughter Maxine, a brother Irvin Lafferty, a brother in law Norbert Mcluckie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine (Breimer) Lafferty whom he married on September 14, 1941.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 Am on Thursday June 30, 2011 at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel (1044 Ferrari Drive) in Coal City; Father Robert Noesen will officiate with inurnment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
