Gerry Lee Bailiff, age 64, of Glendale Heights, IL., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2019 with his sister, Gloria, and niece, Dawn, by his side.

He was born August 1, 1954 in Lafayette, IN. to Donald K. Bailiff and Ida M. Fridley. He graduated from Romeoville High School. He worked as a construction contractor and was a skilled home remodeler for many years.

Gerry had a passion for gardening and enjoyed both his flower beds, especially seeing them bloom in the spring, as well as his vegetable patch. He had a great love for the outdoors. He cherished his animals and owned many dogs and horses over the years. Gerry had a heart of gold and would lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He opened his home to friends who needed a place to stay, he helped his family to rebuild after a tornado and he made lasting and caring friendships with his neighbors over the last 25 years. So many friends stopped by to say goodbye when he was in the hospital and to share their stories of Gerry's caring ways. He touched so many hearts in his time here.

He is survived by his sister, Gloria (Norm) Bixman of Gardner, IL.; his brother Robert Bailiff of Heber, AZ. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Bailiff and Ida Fridley, and a brother, Jerry Bailiff.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Gerry's Life will be held at a later date.
