George Robert Pelton 69 of Coal City passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on February 23, 2012 at The Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family at his side. He was born on October 21, 1942 in Joliet IL the son of Raymond and Pauline (Erwin) Pelton of Wilmington, IL

He was a veteran of the US Army. George retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 422/597 in 2004. He was an avid fisherman and all around handyman. After his retirement he enjoyed spending winter months in Homosassa, Fl.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Bonnie (Spolarich) Pelton, two daughters Hope (Grant) Becker and Heather (Rich) Jurzak of Coal City, IL Mother Pauline Pelton of Wilmington , IL a brother Raymond K. (Darlynn) Pelton of Wilmington, sister Linda (Gene) Kinder of Coal City, sister in law Shirley McCawley Simpson of Wilmington, a brother in law Jay Spolarich of Dwight, IL grandchildren Jessica, Brianna and Corey Jurzak of Coal City, and Blake and Derek Becker of Dwight, IL and Several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Pelton.

Cremation Rites will be accorded

A memorial service will be held on at 7:00 pm Tuesday February 28, 2012 in Ferrari Funeral Chapel in Coal City, his nephew Father Scott McCawley will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.
