Frances A. Hintze, age 92 of Coal City, IL. passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Heritage Health in Dwight.
She was born on October 21, 1928 in Pontiac, MI. to Charles and LuLu (nee Panks) Ramsdell. She graduated from Pontiac High School in Michigan. Frances married Milford Hintze on March 22, 1947 at the Coal City United Methodist Church of which they became long time members. Frances worked as a secretary for the Joliet Arsenal and for John Manville and later was a cashier at Testa's and Berkot's Grocery Stores. She also worked for the family business, Hintze's Bait Shop and Sporting Goods. She enjoyed being a member of her church's Friendship Circle. Frances was an avid baker, canned her own foods and liked fishing. She cherished time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Jean (David) Wills, Jane (Ronald) Wills and Paul (Cindy) Hintze; six grandchildren, DavyLynne Wills, Adam (Nassim) Wills, Allen (Kymm) Wills, Kim (Brad) Mathis, Janet Wills and Joshua (Marti) Hintze; eight great-grandchildren, Christian Badorek, Ella Badorek, Kate Wills, Mila Wills, Elika Wills, Deacon Hintze, Emma Mathis and Dean Mathis and her roommate, Chris LaFlamme.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Milford Hintze (2003); her parents, her step-mother, Eva and her brother, Clarence.
As were Frances' wishes, cremation rites have been accorded
Due to Covid 19, a memorial service will be held privately for the family at the Coal City United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 1, 2021 with Rev. Bradley Shumaker officiating. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where Frances will be laid to rest with her husband, Milford. Funeral services will be live streamed on the Coal City United Methodist Church Facebook page and available starting May 1, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frances' name may be directed to the Coal City United Methodist Church Building Fund.
