Evelyn F. Grooms 79 of Coal City passed away on Friday February 22, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. She was born in Cambridge MA, on November 8, 1928 to the late George and Ellen Griffin.

She was a graduate of Holy Ghost Hospital School of Nursing. She Married Dale O. Grooms in 1952.

She is survived by three children Linda Snyder of Gardner, David (Karen) Grooms of Pleasant Prairie WI, and Michael (Susan) Grooms of Mt. Prospect, IL. Six grandchildren Jason (Courtney) Grooms, Michelle (Jeff) Bowker, Elizabeth Snyder, Stephanie, Stephen, and Samantha Grooms, two great grandchildren, Kalvin and Rayland Bowker and a sister Mary Gillis of Manchester New Hampshire,

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother John Griffin.
