Eugene Powell, age 80, formerly of Coal City, IL. passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet.

Eugene was born on March 25, 1943 in Creal Springs, IL to Vernie and Recil (nee Buckner) Powell. He married Judith A. Vacca in 1970 in Morris. They were married for 46 years until Judith's passing in 2016. Eugene worked for over 20 years at Alumax as a machine operator. He enjoyed fishing with his wife, Judy, and didn't mind that she always caught the most fish.

He is survived by his son, Keith (Dulce) Powell of Diamond, IL ; a  sister Phylis Rodgers and a brother, Justin (Wanda) Powell.

Preceded in death by his wife, Judith; siblings  Melvin, Harlen, Margret, Leo, Vernen Jr., and brother in law Bill Rodgers.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the Ferrari Funeral Chapel, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL. 60416 Paster Caleb Counterman will officiate. Burial will follow at Braceville/Gardner Cemetery.
