Edward G. Zelinko Jr., age 76 of Diamond, IL passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet with his son by his side.

He was born on May 2, 1948 along with his twin brother, Jimmy, to Edward G. Sr. and Laurine (nee Coates) Zelinko. He grew up in Coal City, graduating with Coal City High School's class of 1967. Ed worked at Caterpillar and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed socializing at local businesses in town and he especially frequented the Whistle Stop Café. Ed was proud of the fact that he achieved his blackbelt in Martial Arts later in his life.

He is survived by his son, Timothy (Kailee Wills) Zelinko of Diamond; his grandchildren, Hazel and Violet Zelinko; his brother, John (Kathy) Zelinko of Coal City; his sister-in-law, Linda Zelinko of Coal City; his cousin, Don "Puggy" Vilt, his nieces and nephews, Jamie Hughes, Jill Zelinko, Jimmy (Jasmin) Zelinko, Candie (Matt) McCants, Lori (Chris) Cavera and Beth (Tim) Peters; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Darcie, Clayton, Sydney, Chloe, Bobby, Morgan, Layne, Jesse, Wesley, Lee, Nicholas, Logan, Brayden, Elliott and Abby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Laurine Zelinko and his twin brother, James Zelinko Sr.

Eddie's family would like to acknowledge the dedicated respiratory team at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center and the special care and support of Dr. Beata Kiesel.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL 60416. Private burial will follow at Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
