Dorothy M. Hollowell 88, of Coal City, IL passed away on Tuesday April 21, 2009 at her home. She was born on March 16, 1921 in Forest Park, IL to the late Carl and Grace Reimer.

She was a 1st Lt. in the Army Air Corps, and was a flight nurse tending wounded soldiers during the last years of World War II stationed out of Hawaii. She later served as head nurse at The Arthur J. Audy Home for Children in Chicago, IL.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Daniel Hollowell, Daughter Shirley (Randy) Clarke, two Grandsons Chris (Amie) Clarke, and Adam (Kristen) Clarke, two great grandchildren Aidan, and Abby Clarke, a brother John (Betty) Reimer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Bernice Henthorne, Ruth Kruckmeyer, and Charlotte Reimer, and a brother James Reimer.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday April 25, 2009 at 10:00 Am in The Ferrari Funeral Chapel in Coal City, Chaplin Sandy Hafey, will officiate, Interment will be private. visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City.
