Donald E. Mellendorf 53, of Braceville, IL passed away on Tuesday January 29, 2008 at The Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet. He was born on October 09, 1954 in Chicago, IL

He was employed by Smurfit Stone Container for 35 years, he coached Braceville grade school basketball and baseball from 1986-1998. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and had a great passion for music.

He is survived by his wife who he married on July 3 1976
Kathleen Mellendorf, three children: Aaron Mellendorf, Ashleigh (Fiancé Adrian Terry) Mellendorf, and Ian Mellendorf, two sisters Deborah Mellendorf and Diane (Larry) Brzezinski, step mother Caryl Mellendorf, step Brother Eric (Lisa) Johnson, and step Sister Lisa Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Geraldine Mellendorf, mother and father in law Charles and Jeannine Martina.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday February 2, 2008 at The Ferrari Funeral Chapel Father Raymond Lescher will officiate with interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery. He walked through life by his family and they will walk by him to his final resting place serving as pallbears.
