Dolores (Pooch) Swanson 80, of Coal City passed away on Friday May 6, 2011 at The Morris Hospital. She was born in Coal City, IL on July 23, 1930 to the late James and Margaret Bates.
Dolores enjoyed flowers and gardening, she was a member of The Assumption Church and the Marthas. She was employed as a teller at The First National Bank of Coal City for many years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years William Swanson, two sisters Evalyn Suydam and Yolanda Valiente, of Coal City a sister in law Josephine Bates, of Morris; also numerous nieces nephews cousins and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and step father Louis Stehlik, two children in infancy Kim Edward, and Jill Marie Swanson, a brother Joseph Bates two sisters Lois Manietta, and Cele Bertot,
Funeral Services will be held from Ferrari Funeral Services at 9:00 am on Monday May 9, 2010 to The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for a 9:30 am mass of Christian burial; Father Robert Noesen will officiate with interment in Braceville Gardner Cemetery.
