IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dalton James
Meyer
August 14, 1996 – September 23, 2025
Dalton James Meyer, age 29, of Diamond, IL passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
He was born on August 14, 1996 in Joliet, IL to Eric Meyer and Jennifer Galbreath-Pedraza. Dalton grew up in Coal City with his two sisters, made many lifelong friends along the way and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 2015. He worked as a detailer and tech assistant at Camping World in Braidwood.
Dalton had a need for speed; he loved to live life in high gear. Dirt bikes and fast cars were his passion, and he took interest in anything that had a motor. He learned to weld in high school and fell in love with the trades as well. Dalton loved fiercely and was blessed to have so many incredible friends over the years, and their bonds will never be broken. He adored his sisters, Jess will always be his best friend, and Ava will always be his baby. Dalton was considered the dog whisperer amongst those that knew him, and he is now reunited with his Charlie, Leo and Zeke whom he has missed deeply. In one final act of kindness and love, Dalton was able to bless someone with the gift of sight through eye and tissue donation.
He is survived by his parents, Eric and Amanda Meyer and Jennifer Galbreath-Pedraza and Gus Pedraza; his sisters, Jessica and Ava Meyer; his grandparents, Marsha and Bill Weaver, Dan Meyer and Roy and Rita Galbreath; aunts and uncles, Danielle Meyer and Joel Chase, Josh and Jenna Meyer, Grant and Ashley Meyer, Kim Lower-Hausherr, Mandy and Scott Miller, Brian and Jessica Galbreath, Dan and Kim Galbreath and Diana and Steve Hanley; his cousins, Wyatt and Jaycee Chase, Parker, Addison and Reese Meyer, Margaret Meyer, Andrew Hausherr, Alexandra, Abigail and Dominic Miller, Declan and Olivia Galbreath and Maxine and Ruth Hanley; and the most amazing, dedicated and loving friends anyone could have asked for.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jesse and Francis "Ace" Hockings, Doris and Walter "Bud" Meyer and Ruby Galbreath.
As were Dalton's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
