Craig M. Holmes, age 49 of Waukegan, IL. formerly of Coal City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

He was born on May 22, 1972 in Joliet, IL. to David Holmes and Donna (nee Ross) Togliatti. He was a graduate of Coal City High School Class of 1990. Craig served in the United States Navy for four years as a hull technician on several ships including the USS Kitty Hawk. He later worked for Caterpillar, INC. and later as a laborer in construction. He was an American and World History buff. Craig was hardworking, generous and kind hearted. He was always available with a helping hand to whoever needed him. He enjoyed all family get togethers, especially Christmas. He loved his daughter, Katie, with his whole heart.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie E. Holmes of Coal City; his mother and step-father, Donna and David Togliatti of Coal City; his father and step-mother, David and Karen Holmes of Wesley Chapel, FL.; his brother, Scott (Marla) Holmes of Columbia, IL.; five step brothers, Chris Togliatti of Amsterdam, NL., Kevin (Alexis) Togliatti of Mequon, WI. Gary L. Winner, Sean A. Winner and Kevin B. Winner, all of FL.; his nephews, Jonathan Holmes, Adam Weihl and Alec Togliatti and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Dolores Ross, and his paternal grandparents, Dale and Margaret Holmes.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A Celebration of Life will be held at another date.
