IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cheryl E.
Biniak
September 24, 1957 – April 15, 2025
Cheryl Elizabeth Biniak, age 67 of Braceville, IL passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
She was born on September 24, 1957 in Winston-Salem, NC to Wayne and Shirley (nee McClain) Poteat. Cheryl served her country honorably in the United States Air Force, training as a nurse. In 2018, she married Daniel J. Biniak in Plainfield.
Cheryl was an outdoor woman at heart. Fishing was her passion and she was nicknamed "The Crappie Queen". She also enjoyed camping and snowmobiling with family and friends. Many summers were spent on the beach with her family, especially on Sanibel Island. Cheryl filled her home with houseplants and she took great pride in her garden. She and her dog, Lexi, had an especially close camaraderie with each other. But the joy of Cheryl's life was her family who describe her as an amazing person.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Poteat; husband, Daniel J. Biniak; children, Stacey (John) Cooper, Stephanie (Derek Anderson) Buchanon, James Buchanon, Michael (Hayley Jesionowski) Biniak, Adam (Sara Setaro) Biniak and Tiffany Wiedner; grandchildren, Kage, Kaden and Maverick and sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Mulder, Sandra (Pete) Obenauf and Helen (Tim) Poteat. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Poteat.
