Charles D. Fitzgerald, 83, of Coal City passed away on Friday April 8, 2011 at The Morris Hospital. He was born on May 20, 1927 in Joliet, IL.
He graduated from Joliet Catholic with the class of 1944, WWII Veteran serving in The US Marine Corps, also Retired from Uniroyal.
He is survives by his best friend and constant companion Barb Farrero, three children Kevin (Melanie) Fitzgerald, Christopher (Cynthia) Fitzgerald, and Jon (Sitinor) Fitzgerald, four grandchildren Carrie (Dave) Cullick, Allison Fitzgerald (Travis Tourigny) , Bryant Fitzgerald, and Charles Fitzgerald, four great grandchildren Brendan, Abbie, Avia, and Caiden ; a brother in law Ron Gagliardo, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine Fitzgerald, five brothers Leo, Harley, Bob, Ray, and Dick Fitzgerald and a sister Mary Carlos.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2011 from Ferrari Funeral Services at 10:15 am to the Assumption Church for a 10:30 am mass of Christian burial; Father Robert Noesen will officiate with interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
