Brenda Joy Certa 49, of Morris, IL passed away on Sunday May 6, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 23, 1962 to Joseph F. and Anita (Kuhn) Stezowski in South Haven, Michigan.

Brenda graduated from South Haven High School in 1981. Brenda then earned a degree at Western Michigan University and later completer her Masters at Illinois State University. She was a member of The Coal City United Methodist Church. She was a teacher for 25 years at Braidwood Elementary School in Braidwood, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband Blake Certa, two sons Alex Certa of Peoria, and Matt Certa of Morris, IL. and her father Joseph (Jennie) Stezowski of South Haven Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister Valerie Stezowski.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday May 11, 2012 at The Coal City United Methodist Church, Dr Thomas Logston will officiate. She will lie in State from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3:00-8:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services (corner of Spring Rd. and Ferrari Drive) in Coal City. Graveside services will be held on Monday May 14 at Monks Cemetery in Geneva Township, South Haven Michigan Rev.
