Albert Eugene Mathis, age 72, of Wilmington, IL. passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the home of his son.

He was born on August 26, 1948 in Christopher, IL. to Albert E. and Bessie A. (Armstrong) Mathis. He married Frances Shields in Joliet. He was a Machine Operator for Roberts Williams Construction. Albert had many interests including scuba diving, fishing, hunting, molds products and watching Westerns on TV.

He is survived by his son, Tracy (Racheal) Shields; grandchildren, Marissa Shields, Alex Shields, Rico Duarte, Angelina Salazar and Ashley Wittenheller, great-grandchildren, Izzy Rosenthal and Buddha, who is on the way. Also surviving are his brothers, Donald and Joshua Mathis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Shields.

At Albert's request, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
